GitSniper is a browser extension that helps developers extract and format code review comments from GitHub and GitLab. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

• Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we store your email address and basic profile information to identify your account and manage your subscription.
• Usage Data: We track anonymous usage metrics (e.g., number of extractions) to improve the product and manage free tier limits.
• User Preferences: Your extension settings (excluded authors, custom preambles) are stored locally in your browser and synced to our servers if you are signed in.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• The content of code reviews or comments you extract
• Your source code or repository contents
• Your browsing history outside of GitHub/GitLab merge request pages
• Any data from pages other than merge request/pull request pages

How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

• Provide and maintain the GitSniper service
• Manage user accounts and subscriptions
• Track usage limits for free tier users
• Improve and optimise the extension
• Communicate important service updates

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

• Account data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest
• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties

Third-Party Services

GitSniper uses the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth: For secure authentication (we only receive your email and basic profile)
• Supabase: For secure data storage and authentication
• Stripe: For payment processing (we do not store payment card details)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your data
• Opt out of non-essential data collection

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law.
